SimFarm is a real-time multiplayer farming simulation on a 20×20 tile grid. Grow crops, raise livestock, place buildings, and race to become a Legendary Farmer.

Crops must be planted on plowed tiles and watered to grow. Growth pauses in Winter. Harvesting during a crop’s preferred season grants a +20% yield bonus.

Growth Stages & Inspector

Every crop moves through four stages: Seedling → Sprout → Growing → Ready. Only Ready-stage tiles can be harvested. Dry tiles pause growth. Use the 🔎 Inspect tool — click any planted tile to see its moisture %, soil quality, estimated harvest time, and pest status.

⚠️ Winter halts all growth. Harvest before the season change or crops sit dormant until Spring.

Crop Rotation Bonus

Planting a different crop than what was last grown on a tile grants a +10 soil quality bonus. Rotate regularly to keep soil healthy and boost maximum yields over time.

Barn + Dairy Barn both apply to cows/goats — stack for up to +50% milk. Add Dairy specialization for up to +80% total.
Well + Water Tower auto-waters a 5-tile radius together. One pair covers most mid-sized fields completely hands-free.
Greenhouse + Compost Bin: Greenhouse protects from Frost and boosts growth; Compost Bins regenerate soil quality passively. Ideal for a high-output winter zone.
Mega Structures: Prioritise Grand Silo/Barn at $5k–$6k. Clear a 3×3 area first. Hover a placed mega structure to see the farm-wide effect glow.

💡 Strategy: Run a road border around your fields before plowing. The $30/tile cost pays back within a few harvest cycles through reduced water and plow expenses.

Tile Tools — All Support Rectangle Drag

Hold and drag a rectangle to select an area. A bounding box previews your selection — gold for farm operations, green for planting. Release to apply the entire selection in one batch request (even 400 tiles is near-instant). Plant seeds the same way: drag a rectangle over plowed tiles to plant the whole field at once.

Erase Tool

Click any building, fence, or road to remove it for a 50% cash refund. Clicking a plowed tile with no crop resets it to grass for free. Erasing a planted tile loses the seeds — no refund on planted crops.

Prices fluctuate — time your sales for maximum profit

Open the Market from the top toolbar. Each row shows the current price per unit, your stock, and a sparkline chart showing recent price history. Green sparkline = price trending up; red = trending down.

🏛 Silo bonus (+10%): Build one early — the price bonus pays for itself within your first few harvests. Grand Silo adds a further +25% on top.
📈 Market Boom: When this event fires, sell everything in your inventory immediately for peak prices. Don’t wait.

Use the quantity input on each row to sell a precise amount — useful for holding reserves. Leave it at the default to sell your full stock in one click.

Proven techniques from first harvest to Legendary Farmer

🌸 Early Game

01Start with Lettuce and Tomato — fastest grow times, best early cash flow to reinvest in buildings.
02Always water immediately after planting. It starts the growth timer right away — dry tiles don’t grow at all.
03Build a Silo ($200) as soon as you can. The +10% sell price bonus pays for itself within your first few harvests.
04Run Roads along field edges before plowing — −20% plow/water costs save money on every tile you ever use.

☀️ Mid Game

05Buy the Tractor ($500) once your field is large. −50% plow cost farm-wide is consistently the best ROI purchase.
06Place Feed Troughs near animal clusters. They auto-feed every tick, eliminating the need for constant manual feeding.
07Stack Barn + Dairy Barn near cows/goats — both bonuses apply simultaneously, giving up to +50% milk output.

Why are my crops not growing?

The most common reasons:

  • Not watered: Tiles must be watered after planting — dry tiles pause growth entirely.
  • Winter season: All growth stops during Winter (×0.0 multiplier).
  • Pest infestation: Infested tiles (red tint) skip one growth tick per event.
  • Drought weather: Slows growth by −20% and increases evaporation.

Use the 🔎 Inspect tool — click any planted tile to see its moisture %, soil quality, and estimated time to harvest so you can diagnose the issue directly.

What’s the best crop for each game stage?
  • Early: Lettuce 🥬 (1.5 min) and Tomato 🍅 (2 min) — fast cash flow

Why did my crop disappear after a Frost event?

Frost damages unharvested crops. Ready-stage crops hit by Frost can be damaged or destroyed. Harvest promptly in late Fall before Winter arrives. A Greenhouse converts Frost weather into 50% growth rate for nearby tiles — essential for year-round farming.

How do I breed animals faster?

Fully enclose animals within Fence tiles (add at least one Gate for access). Animals inside a complete enclosure breed at twice the normal rate. Keep them fed — hungry animals don’t breed at all.

Does the Dairy specialization stack with the Dairy Barn building?

Yes — both bonuses apply independently. Dairy specialization (+30%) + Dairy Barn (+30%) + regular Barn (+20%) = significant milk output increase. All three stack on cows and goats in range.

How does the Silo bonus work exactly?

Each Silo adds a flat +10% to all crop sell prices farm-wide. Multiple Silos don’t stack the price bonus (the 10% is farm-wide, not per-Silo). The Grand Silo adds a separate +25% that stacks on top. Build both for a combined +35% price boost.

Can I place multiple Barns or Silos?

Yes — Barns, Silos, Dairy Barns, Chicken Coops, and Pig Pens are all non-unique and can be placed multiple times. Unique buildings (Farmhouse, Tractor, Water Tower, Windmill, Grand Silo, Grand Barn) are limited to one per farm.

Can I undo a building placement?

Yes — select the Erase tool and click the building for a 50% cash refund. Fences, gates, and roads are also refundable at 50%. Plowed tiles with no crops reset to grass for free.

How do achievement bonuses stack?

All achievement bonuses are additive within their category. For example: Green Thumb (+1%) + Budding Farmer (+2%) + Junior Farmer (+3%) = +6% total crop bonus. Wealth achievements apply to all categories and layer on top of category-specific bonuses.

What does God Mode actually change?

God Mode sets all action costs to $0 (plow, water, seeds, buildings, animals) and grants immunity to the three negative random events: County Tax Bill, Drought Warning, and Equipment Breakdown. It is enabled per-user or per-farm from the Admin panel and is intended for testing only.
